Dr. B.K. Mishra, HOD, Mining department, AKSU, participated in two days National Workshop organized recently in IIT Kharagpur on 24^th and 25^th of November. The Workshop was attended by approximately 60 representatives of various top level institutions such as Coal India, BCCL, SECL, ONGC, and NMDC. Important amongst those were the Khanindra Pathak, HOD-Mining, IIT-Kharagpur, Falguni Sen from ISM, and S.K.Sharma from BHU. The participants discussed extensively on the various matters like subject contents of mining,laboratories,lab requirements, practical training, need of qualified faculty members and the security criteria fixed by the DGMS. Speaking on behalf of AKS University Dr. B.K. Mishra presented his views on the various mining courses running in AKS University, syllabus designed for B.Tech mining students, mining labs, educational qualifications and quality of faculty members, mining training being imparted to students etc. High level educational environment being facilitated to students and the industry oriented syllabus designed for the mining students were widely appreciated by the representatives of institutions and mining experts.

Virendra Pandey, the M.Sc Bio-Tech student of AKS University has been able to get the selection in India’s no.- 1 C.S.I.R. based(Center for Science and Industrial Research)  in the lacones section of  Hyderabad based C.C.M.B.(Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology) lab for the six months Dissertation Training. As it is well known that the students of AKS University have been selected in various other national and international reputed institutions as well. On this achievement, Virendra Pandey has been congratulated by the Vice-Chancellor-Prof.P.K. Banik, Chairman Er.Anant Soni, Pro-V.C. Dr. Harshwardhan, Dr.R.S.Tripathi and HOD Biotech-Kamlesh Chaure.

With a view to assist the students in achievement of their goals, AKS University organized a Career Guidance Programme for the 9^th, 10th and 12^th standard students of Government Excellence Higher Secondary School (vyankat-1). Career Guidance Programme aimed at guiding the students in appropriate selection of their career. Speaking on the occasion Prof.Akhilesh.A.WaU, HOD, Computer Science Department conveyed the significant information to students pertaining to careers in field of information technology.Prof. Wou also threw the lights on the job possibilities in the Computer Fields such as computer hardware, software and animation respectively. During the programme Shankar Bera, the faculty member, Computer Science Department and Chandrasekhar Vishwakarma imparted the hands-on training on computer hardware and networking. The training programme was followed by the students visit in digital library, various computer labs, CCTV control room of AKS University. Students also got the opportunity to learn the technical intricacies of software development. During the visit, students were guided by S.K. Nigam, Nodal Officer of Excellence School and the faculty members of AKS University named Vijay Vishwakarma, Subhadra Saw, Pragya Shrivastava and Viren Tiwari.

Seventh semester students of Agriculture Faculty will organize a Krishak Sangoshthi (A seminar for farmers) in Kolar village of Satna district under the RAWE programme scheduled exclusively for the Agriculture students of AKS University. The programme will be spearheaded by Dr.Doomer Singh and Dheerendra Chaturvedi. During the Sangoshthi (Seminar) the farmers will be apprised about the modern technologies of farming, and extensive discussion will be carried out regarding the harvesting of RAVI.

Providing an international exposure to AKS University, Pankaj Shrivastava, faculty member from Mechanical Engineering department presented a research paper in an international conference held in Dubai between 23/11/16 to 25/11/16 on the topic Soft Computing and Machine Intelligence. The conference was attended by the scholars and intelligentsias of the countries like USA, China, Japan, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Bangladesh. Speaking about the research paper Dr. Shrivastava told that the topic of his research paper is “Parametric Analysis Modeling and Optimization of Surface Roughness during study A.G. Using CBN Abrasive” which will turn out to be a useful research work for electrical and medical industries. The research paper of Dr. Pankaj has been among those 50 research papers which had finally been selected for presentation in conference. Speaking about his research work Pankaj Shrivastava told that his research work will be instrumental to make the fast production and manufacturing of small and complicated parts used in various industries.
