Seventh semester students of B.Sc. agriculture are involved in organizing various programmes for the farmers and villagers under the RAVE programme designed by the AKS University. Under the RAVE programme students visited Lohra and Semra villages and organized the Kisan Sangoshthi to apprise the farmers about the new farming technologies. In this Sangoshthi (seminar) the students named Anup, ChanduBose,Raj,Shravan,Amit,Sajjan,Narendra,Satyendra,Vipin,Sachin,Kanhaiya,Harvansh,Gaurav,Kamlesh,Dileep,Anand, and Manish made their remarkable contribution. In the same way, the students named Ashish Komal,Aditya,Rajiv,Chanchlesh,Arvind,Dinesh,Neeraj,Vipin,Mith-un shared their agriculture knowledge with farmers and discussed about the various new technologies being introduced in farming.

Dr. G.K. Pradhan, the Engineering Dean of AKS University participated in a Summit organized by the Environment Ministry of Govt. of India in Shilong (Meghalaya) on 17/11/16. The Summit was presided over by the veteran scientist Dr. V.P. Upadhyay. The discussion was focused on the adverse impact on the environment due to a large number of lime stones and the cement plants operationalised in Meghalaya state.

Institutions which participated in Summit: The subject experts from various institutions of India such as Chandigarh and Bhopal based Geological Survey of India, Mizoram University, C.S.I. Hyderabad and CEOs and Engineers of approximately 13 cement companies made their presence and expressed their views on the occasion.

Engineering Dean expressed views on Mining: Dr. G.K. Pradhan was invited exclusively to express his views on the topic pertaining to mining. Speaking extensively on the adverse impact of mining on environment, Dr. Pradhan said that the use of explosives needs to be fully banned and emphasized on the use of other scientific and technical alternatives. Dr.Pradhan suggested that the surface miner may be the better alternative of explosives.

AKS University offered the co-operation: Speaking on behalf of AKS University, Dr. Pradhan assured the delegates that the AKS University will co-operate in adequate use of surface miner through its research works in 13 mines running in Meghalaya state and all efforts shall be put in to achieve the substantial result.

An important characteristic of AKS University is to impart the subjective knowledge to students by associating it with practical knowledge. In this series, 45 students of B.Tech. Engineering participated in an International Mining Machinery Exhibition held in Kolkata between 16/11/2016 to 19/11/2016. In the Exhibition, students got the opportunity to observe the demonstration of various machineries used in mining works. Apart from it, students also experienced the operation of drilling machines exhibited by Atlos Copko. Participation in International Exhibition was followed by the visit of students in E.C.L. (Eastern Cold Field) situated in Rani Ganj, Kolkata. During the visit students gained the knowledge of various aspects of mining activities as well as the functioning of modern apparatus like Dragline under the guidance of N.K. Tripathi. During the visit students were guided by P.S. Tiwari and J.N. Singh.

Seventh semester students of B.Sc. agriculture of AKS University organized a Huge Sangoshthi (symposium) for farmers in village Itma under the scheduled RAWE programme which has been designed exclusively for the Agriculture students. In the Sangoshthi (Symposium) 70 to 80 farmers from villages like Sitpura, Itma and Chhoti Galahtee made their presence. Dr. Nandram, Dr. D.P. Chaturvedi and Leela Kevat were the chief guests of the programme. During the programme, Dr. Nandram informed the farmers regarding the soil, he advised them to carry out the thorough testing of soil prior to using the fertilizers. Dr. D.P. Chaturvedi threw lights on organic farming and also shared his knowledge about the current technologies being introduced in farming. Apart from the agriculture Dr. Chaturvedi enhanced the knowledge of farmers regarding the professions like milk and fish production respectively.

Seventh semester students of B.Tech. Agriculture made visit to Krishi Vigyan Kendra situated in Majhgavan block of Satna district. During the visit students learnt the technical aspects of Water Shed Management. Students also acquired the extensive knowledge of Structure Remote Sensing used for the Water Shed Management. During the entire visit students were guided by Maneesh Kushwaha, faculty member of B.Tech. Agriculture.
