Two Faculty Members of AKS University named B.D. Mehra and Harsh Singh presented their Research Papers in a prestigious institution BITS(Pilani) on 16/02/2018. Both the Faculty Members participated in a symposium held there on the topic “Emerging Environmental Challenges and Emerging Approach”, which was quite informative, and was appreciated by all.

Research Paper of Harsh Singh: Harsh Singh presented the Paper on the topic “Nano Material Compatibility and Effect on Properties of Base Bitumen Binder and Polymer Modified Bitumen”, where he conveyed the valuable information on the “importance of Nano Material and its characteristics”, also he discussed about the “flexible nature of nano material and its penetration value”.

Research Paper of B.D. Mehra:  B.D.Mehra, who presented the Research Paper on the topic “Special Variability of Water Quality Parameter in Satna City”, shared some interesting information on the differences between the soil of rural and urban areas, also he discussed about the impact of industrial areas.

 The Research Papers of both the Faculty Members dragged the special attention of the members of technical committee, and were termed as the “fantastic one”. Management (AKSU) and all the Staff members have congratulated to both of them for their Research Papers.

Subhadra Bose, the Faculty Member of Computer Science & Information Technology Department has recently been awarded the Ph.D Degree from Mnnit, Allahabad. Informing about it, Subhadra told that she completed her research work under the guidance of Professor Anil Kumar Singh on the topic “Energy Performance, Tradeoff through Pro- Active and Re-active Hot Spot Detection Technique, Optimized V M Placement and Receipted VM Consolidation in Cloud Data Center”, Subhadra Shaw has given the credit of her achievement to parents, Amit Shaw (husband), and to the AKS University Management.

A Workshop on “self defense” was organisd at the auditorium of AKS University to commemorate Sarojnee Naidu, who had played an important role in freedom movement of India. The Workshop was aimed at providing self defence training to boys and girls so that they could defend themselves in adverse circumstances.  A Lucknow based team, by the name “Red Brigade” imparted the training to girls so that they could save themselves from molestation and other sexual harassment. Usha Vishwakarma, the head of Red Brigade team, was the chief guest of the programme, who has been honored with the President Award in past. Notably, Red Brigade is the unique organization of India, which is involved in teaching self defense tricks to students. This year, Red Brigade started its campaign from the birthplace of Sarojnee Naidu i.e. Haiderabad, on the occasion of her birth anniversary i.e. from 13/02/18. During its compaign, it covered a number of states and districts to train the students in self defence. The compaign will culminate in Lucknow on 03/03/2018 i.e. on death anniversary of Sarojnee Naidu. During the Workshop, Pro VC-Dr. Harshvardhan, Er. RK Shrivastava, all the HoDs, Faculty Members from various departments, and a large number of students were present. The programme was anchored by Manju Chaterjee, and the Vote of Thanks was extended by Dr. RN Tripathi.

A Workshop on “Women Empowerment and Security” was organized at the auditorium of AKS University, where the matters related to domestic violence, stringent laws made to protect women, and the measures taken by the government, were discussed at length. On this occasion Kishor Dwivedi (District Officer, Women Empowerment) gave the detail information on the programmes started by government for the welfare of women and their security. Informing about the Domestic Violence Protection Act, Rajendra Bangre, Project Officer (Women Development) said that the women can safeguard their self respect by exercising these laws. He vehemently stated that the laws made for women are meant to patch up the relations with their family members rather than breaking the relations, furthermore, he informed the students about the Nari-niketan and its functioning. Vinay Kaithvas, District Commandant (Home guard) apprised the students about the acts related to sexual exploitation faced by children. Sharing the Dias, Vidya Pandey, President, Vasundhara Mahila Mandal extensively shared her views about the sextual discrimination prevalent in society. Speaking on the occasion, Amar Singh Chauhan, District Child Protection Officer informed the students about various provisions of Kishor- Nyay Act. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor (AKSU)-PK Banik, Pro VC-Dr. Harshvardhan, OSD-RN Tripathi, Administrator-RK Shrivastava, and the students of MSW Department were present. Programme was anchored and directed by Manju Chatarjee.

AKS University, a prime educational institution of Vindhya region, is set to organize three days Mega Technical Fest between 26 to 28th of February, by name “Sigma-18”. Like previous year, the current year is also going to observe the huge participation of students from all Faculties. Sigma-18, whose theme is “Integrated Best”, is a technical fest which is organized every year in AKS University to provide a platform to students to ensure their holistic development. Interestingly, this time, the students from other colleges may also participate and showcase their embedded skills in thisTech-Fest of AKS University.  In order to get their names registered, students may login the official website of AKS University, and can get detail information about Sigma-18. Under the Tech-Fest, approximately 50 events will be organized, and the winners will be given lucrative cash prizes as well as the “Certificate of Participation”. As it is notable, this is the second edition of Sigma-18, in its first edition i.e. in Sigma -17, thousands of students had participated with zeal and enthusiasm. In order to explore the skills of the students, three days Technical Fest will include the events like auction-King, Auto cad, and Bed and Hock hypothesis. Blind code, Bob the builder, Brain B, Bridge design, I Candy, pharmacules, Food suspension. Forge of empire, Friday-coded, Junkey Bay, Bulls and Beers, Casino game, Mister Bond, Petry Art, Projector Shutter Bug etc. Management (AKSU) has appealed to students to participate in Tech-Fest with all zeal and fervor.
