The Dean of Mining Engineering Department of AKS University Satna, Prof. GK Pradhan has informed that the Department of Mining is organizing a training program for the Mining officers of JSW Steel Limited, Orissa. It is worth mentioning that JSW Steel Limited has received allocation from Orissa Government for four more mines last year. AKS University has been entrusted with the responsibility to enhance the technical skills of Engineers. In this series, continuous work of mining and training is going on in Jajang, Nuvagaon, Narayanposi and Gonua in Orissa. There has also been a record increase in iron ore production. Manpower is constantly being increased in the mines under the Mines Division and latest technology is also being included. The qualified engineers are being trained in collaboration with the training officers of AKS University. For regular updates and progress in all these works in JSW, a special training program has been fixed from 2nd August to 10th September. The specific training shall be scheduled on Sustainable Development, Reducing Carbon Footprint, Safety Management and IT Intervention. Under the guidance of Chief Operating Officer, Mines Division, Ranjan Naik, the Mines Division has engaged the Managers and Engineers for training and innovative strategies. The training includes classrooms as well as site visits to improve the mental strength of the Managers while working with zero accidents. Executives, supervisors and workmen of JSW are actively participating in this training work. It is noteworthy that since 2013 the AKS University is Continually conducting training programs in the mining companies across the country. Companies like NMDC, Utkal Alumina, Hindalco Industries and JSW Karnataka are prominent. The training is getting adequate results. The 10 faculty members of AKS University are constantly sharing abstract and nuanced information on important topics with the participants in the training sessions. It is to be known that since 2012 with its establishment, AKS University has developed such an infrastructure, faculty pool, laboratory and other facilities that many industries and companies are being benefited with the scheduling of training programs in their institutions, which are also giving excellent results. At the launch of the program, the presence of BRK Padhi, Agent Mines, JSW was remarkable. He discussed the use of training for Young Engineers at AKS University. He also appreciated the works of the University. Welcoming the guests and Young Engineers, Anant Kumar Soni, Pro-Chancellor, AKS University, underlined the commitments in the field of mining and education, Dr. B.K. Mishra and P.S. Tiwari of Mining Faculty were present in the program.
