Mining students (both Diploma and B.Tech) of AKS University will participate in Annual Mining Safety Summit-2017, which will be organized in ESECL, next week. Informing about it, G.K.Pradhan, Dean, Engineering & Technology told that 20 students of AKS University are going to participate in this Annual Summit, which will be inaugurated by the P.K. Sirkar, Director General of Mines Safety and B.R. Reddy, President, Mining Safety, Govt. of India. The Exhibition-17 will be organized in ESECL, situated in Sohagpur, Shahdole, where the students of AKS University will showcase their innovative approach through the exhibition of their Safety Modals. During the Exhibition-17, students will be guided by J.N. Singh, Avadhesh Pandey and Anand Pandey (Faculty Members) of Mining Engineering, AKS University. Students participation in Exhibition-2017 will be followed by the visit to Open Cast Mine, where they will understand the functioning and intricacies of Mine.

The Environment Department of AKS University organized a Training Programme last week, which was attended by Dr. Alok Kumar Jain, Regional Officer, Pollution Control Board of M.P, Dr. Rahul Dwivedi and Rajkumar Mishra. On this occasion, all the representatives of Pollution Board attempted to create awareness among the students regarding the “pollution in environment” through their excellent lectures. During his lecture, Dr. Rahul Dwivedi carried out the measurement of the level of SO2 and NO in air. Apart from it, the representatives of Pollution Board also conveyed the information regarding the standard of air pollution fixed by the Central Pollution Board of India. The representatives assured the students about the availability of the Board labs for the students of AKS University. On this occasion Suman Patel, Neeladri Shekhar (Faculty Members from Environment Department) and a large number of students were present.

Ranjan Sahay, the Controller General of Indian Bureau of mines, made a maiden visit to AKS University, where he reached at the auditorium of University amid a big round of applause. While addressing to audience, he said “at a first glance, one can easily gauge that the rein of AKS University is in safe hands of experts, intellectuals and experienced people, and that’s what the reason AKS University is making the progress by leaps and bounds in field of education, research and development”. In his address, Dr. G.K. Pradhan, Dean, Engineering &Technology acknowledged that the visit of Dr. Sahay in AKS University is subject to pride for the Vindhya region. Speaking on the occasion, Er. Anant Soni, Chairman, AKS University said that his vision is to place AKS University among the top universities of the country and he would leave no stone unturned to realize his vision.

Mining students of AKS University will be trained in reputed government institutions: In his speech, Mr. Sahay said that AKS University is set to achieve the higher standards fixed for the Mining Engineering. Ranjan Sahay, as an expert teacher, threw the lights on rules and regulations, various functioning of IBM, size and types of mines and about various resources of mining. Mr. Sahay appreciated the dedication and discipline level of students studying here as well as the syllabus designed for the mining students. He assured the students that they would continue to receive the cooperation from him in days to come.

Need to be cautious on indiscriminate consumption of nature: At the end of his speech, Mr. Sahay alerted everyone on indiscriminate consumption of nature and said that indiscriminate consumption of nature and deforestation will lead to the imbalance in nature. Advising the students, he said that they need to be equipped with the latest technologies, and urged them to use their brain in developing new apps related to Mining Engineering, he also asked the students to help in vanishing the negative perception of the people about the Mining and Mining Engineering.

National Education Excellence Award-2017, Building Entrepreneurship Eco System Role and contribution of University, an Award Distribution Ceremonywas organized recently at Imperial Hotel, New Delhi, which was presided over by the Prakash Javadekar, HRD Minister, Govt. of India. On this occasion, AKS University was selected for the “Best Innovative University Award “by the jury members. Er. Anant Kumar Soni, Chairman, AKS University was present on the occasion to receive this prestigious award. Informing about the achievement, Er. Anant Soni said that AKS University, prior to winning the award, had to go through the various criteria and standards set up by the team of judges, which comprised of renowned educationists and intellectuals. During the Prize Distribution, Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors belonging to various Universities were present. As it is well known, AKS University has been felicitated with various other prestigious national and international awards in past as well for its academic excellence, research and development.

“Learn while You Do” is a teaching methodology which is followed by AKS University to train the students of all faculties, in this series, final year students of B.Tech and Diploma (Cement Technology) received the training in NCCBM, Ballabhgarh. Informing about the training, students told that they received the training of Simulator in NCCBM; Simulator is a computer based program, which helps us in understanding the various functioning of Cement Plant. During the visit, students gathered the information about the actual methodology of cement production. The entire training programme was guided under the direction of Professor G.C. Mishra, Director, Cement Technology, AKS University.

HDFC Bank held the Campus Drive in AKS University on Tuesday, in which 150 students of various streams like B.Com, BCA, BBA, and MBA participated. Informing about it, M.K. Pandey, Head, T&P, told that two students of AKS University named Neelesh Sharma (B.Com) and Krishna Kumar Pandey (MBA) were selected for the post of Sales Development Manager on a salary package of 1.80/annum. Campus Drive was successfully organized with the valuable contribution of Balendra Vishwakarma, Adarsh Singh, and Manoj Singh.

A Mega Technical Fest, by the name Sigma-17, organized at the premise of AKS University on Wednesday. The Technical Fest was formally inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor-P.K. Banik amidst the flag hoisting and the theme song sung by the students. Addressing the students on this occasion, Vice-Chancellor said “modern age is the age of globalization, and our young generation is a powerful asset which can change the destiny of our nation, and would be instrumental in securing higher position in international arena”. As it is well known, Sigma-17 was an effort to expose the embedded talent of students. Technical fest Sigma-17 experienced the participation of approximately 2000 students belonging to various faculties like Commerce, Art, Management, Science & Engineering; it had 28 events including 10 fun games. The Tech Fest, Sigma-17 also reflected the luster of Skill- India, one of the dream projects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the Fest, Students showcased their computer and technical competencies and other skills. At the end of the Technical Fest, Chairman-Er. Anant Soni appreciated the efforts of the students as well as the staff members for organizing such an innovative and creative programme.

Second semester students of M.Sc. Environment Science received the training on Water Conservation organized by the Tarun Bharat Sangh in Alwar Rajasthan. During the training programme students were guided by Rajendra Singh popularly known as Jal Purush, Chaman Singh,Chhotelal and Suresh Raikwar.While receiving the training, students visited the adjacent areas like Gopal Pura,Budkheda,Maharajpura and Rajarampura and interacted with the local residents regarding the severe water scarcity problems faced by them in past and also the current availability of water in these areas, students also received the information about the water conservation, water distribution, water user plan and water demand. Students were informed about the creation of water structure which includes the various criteria like space selection, availability of soil, slope area, the catchment area of water, water level, base level, outlet level and the height of slope. After the completion of training programme, students were of the view that the sincere attention towards the water conservation can sort out the water depletion problem of Satna. Dr. Mahendra Tiwari, Suman Patel and Neeladri Shekhar motivated the trained students to distribute the acquired knowledge for the betterment of their region.

During the entire visit, students were guided by the Ashok Ranjan, Faculty Member from Mechanical Engineering Department.

A mega Blood Stem Cell Donation programme was organized by Datree Samajik Sanstha, Banglore at the auditorium of AKS University on Saturday. The programme was aimed at creating awareness among the people regarding the donation of healthy Blood Stem Cell to save the lives of the patients victimized of blood cancer. Students from M.S.W. Pharmacy, Biotech and Agriculture participated in programme and got their names registered for the donation of Stem Cell. Srinivasan, one of the members of Datree Samajik Sanstha shared his views on menace of blood cancer and highlighted the significance of the donation programmes like these. On this occasion, Pro VC- Dr. Harshvardhan, Professor R.N. Tripathi, Dr.S.P. Gupta, Dr. Kamalesh Chaure, Rajiv Soni and a large number of students were present.
