4th and 6th semester students of Diploma (EE) recently visited the Silpara Hydel Power Plant where they received the practical knowledge of electricity production. Ankit Soni, the engineer posted in Plant, shared his knowledge with students pertaining to various devices like generator and turbine, which are generally used in production of electricity. During the visit, students were accompanied and guided by Diwakar Dubey and Ajay Singh

Thirty Four (34) students of AKS University have been selected in a campus drive organized by Wilshire Pesticide and Fertilizer Private Limited, an Indore based company on Friday. “Students have been selected for various positions of the company,” told Director T&P adding that the selection was carried out on the basis of student’s performance in written test, group discussion and interview. Informing further he said, 10 students have been selected for the position of group leader while others will occupy the position of sales representative, on a salary package of Rs 3 lakh/annum.

Names of selected students are: Krishnakant, Anand, Rajkumar, Nihal Kumar, Aaarju Bano, Taptus, Bhakti, Om Singh, Shobhit, Rajesh, Parvish Raj, Rahul Singh, Sachin, Vaibhav, Anjali, Niteshwari, Prachi, Saurabh, Shekh Rubina, Pankaj Lalit, Kajal, Meena, Bhagwati, Sati, Seema, Vandana, Satyavrat, Raman, Kushal, Pankaj, Sarvesh and Harshita Mishra. Electrical Engineering students have been sent to various reputed companies for their Apprentice Training, informed Rama Shukla, the Head of Electrical Engineering Department of AKS University. Students named Lavkush, Mohit (in Edible Oil, UP); Gajendra, Shubham, Shekhar, Rimjhim (in Ispat, UP); Neha, Pankaj (in KJS Cement, Maihar); Shankh Dhar, Vimal, Akansha (in Vilash Transformer Repairing Center, MP), Nand Kishore, Shivesh (in Mitcon Company, MP), are being trained by the company experts.

 Students, during the course of training, will be completing their project work as well. Undoubtedly, training, thus received, will not only increase their job opportunities but uplift their employability level as well.

CS department of AKS University on Saturday organized a “One day workshop” in which the contents related to the cyber security and ethical hacking were discussed in detail. Keynote- speaker, Abhishek Raj shared specific information on cyber security and ethical hacking, and demonstrated the ways through which the sites could be blocked and the passwords could be changed.

 “Though the word Hacker sounds negative but the fact remains, they are like other IT professionals, who save the computers from cyber attack. They are also called Security Analyst and Penetration Testers” he said, adding that the hackers secure the country’s information system from ‘Black Hat Hackers’.

 During the Workshop, Dr. GK Pradhan, Akhilesh A Waoo, Vijay Vishwakarma, Deependra Shukla, Pragya Shrivastava, Pragya Shriwastava, Dr. Subhadra Shaw, Shivani Patanha, Balendra Garg, Ankita Sharma, Varsha Tiwari and Lab faculty members were present.

Students named Garima Tamrakar, Virendra Vaishya, Anshul Gautam and Nikhil Mishra (all from civil engineering), have recently been selected by CSIR, CBRI Roorkee for their projects, related to the civil engineering. Garima will be completing her project on “Durability of concrete and fire resistance of self compacting concrete” under the guidance of Dr. Monalisa Badhera and Virendra on the topic “Design against progressive collapse failure of precast concrete”, which he will complete under the guidance of Dr. Mickey Meckan. Staying there in Roorkee, Anshul, under the guidance of D Raju, will complete his research work on the topic “Bamboo reinforced concrete structures” while Nikhil will complete his research work on the topic “Retrofitting of concrete”, under the guidance of Dr. HC Arora. Notably, Central Building Research Institute is the only institution which helps the students in their research and development projects. Informing further, students told that the training, thus received, will help them in creating job opportunities in research and development projects of both government and private sectors. Students have been wished “All the best” by the Management (AKSU) for their projects.

A Training Programme on the topic “Durable Concrete Making Practices” was organized in AKS University on Tuesday in which 18 marketing officials from Ultratech cement participated. The training programme which commenced with the worship of Goddess Saraswati, saw the presence of GC Mishra, K N Bhattacharya, Ravi Pandey, Piyush Gupta and other officials of the cement technology department (AKSU) who imparted the training to the officials came from Ultrat Tech cement industries.

 “Not only theoretical but we were given the practical knowledge as well”, told one of the trainees adding that the training session has been quite beneficial for them. At the end, “Participation Certificates” were given to all those who made their participation in training session.

A highly advanced “cement testing and calibration research laboratory” was recently inaugurated in AKS University at the hands of Kamleshwar Patel, the Rural Development Minister of MP, amid the esteem presence of Chancellor-BP Soni and other top officials of AKS University. Speaking on the occasion minister said: “AKS University is making progress by leaps and bounds and its achievements are highly commendable.” He congratulated the University for its efforts of touching the supreme educational standard. Having observed all the labs of the University he said: “AKS University is giving the golden opportunity to students in realization of their dreams.”

Speaking on the occasion Chancellor BP Soni said that the Minister should take initiative to set up the grain storage in each and every Panchayat of the state, also he suggested to develop a mechanism through which the raining water could be saved for further use. The Minister responded affirmatively to the suggestion of the Chancellor. As it is noteworthy, the establishment of cement testing lab will help in quality testing of the cement being used in roads and building construction works running in the area.

 Other dignitaries who were present in programme included Siddhartha Kushwaha (MLA, Satna), Er. Anant Soni, Dr. Harshvardhan, Pro.GC Mishra and all the faculty members of the University. “Vote of Thanks” was proposed by Er. Anant Soni, the Chairman of AKS University.

Pragya Shrivastava, faculty member from CS Department (AKSU), presented a sententious research paper in a national seminar which was organized by NLC India Limited on Friday. She presented the paper on the topic “Internet of things-a boon to the mining industry for the sustainable development”, which was appreciated by the subject experts present over there. During the seminar she said: “The progress which we notice in mining industry has been the result of the fast growing information technology, and the internet, which has contributed immensely to the mining industry.”

As it is noteworthy, the same forum has been used by the GK Pradhan (Dean, Engineering) also, when he had presented his mining based research paper, last year.  Management (AKSU) has congratulated Pragya for her research paper presentation.

Students of AKS University participated in various competitive events organized on the occasion of National Voters Day. Dr. Deepak Mishra, who was the Event In-charge (AKSU), was felicitated by the Collector (Satna) for his sincere and outstanding services. One of the students named Rajkishore Vishwakarma (from Biotech), who secured the second rank in state level painting competition, was felicitated at the hands of Anandi Ben Patel, the Governor of Madhya Pradesh. Rajkishore had drawn the blue print of EVM Machine which left the good impression into  the mind of jury members.

 Notably, the competitions on University level had been organized on 19th of January which included the events like debate, essay competition, Drawing and slogan writing etc. Management (AKSU) has congratulated to both Dr. Deepak Mishra and Rajkishore for their achievements.

Prashant Sharma, One of the students of AKS University, participated in 9th Indian Student Parliament held in Puna last week. The workshop, which was organized between 18th to 20th of January in MIT (World Piece University), saw the presence of dignitaries came from across the country. The workshop was held on the topic “Political process in India and engagement of youth init” where intellectuals shared their views on the issues related to current affairs.

 Prashant Sharma, the student from B.Tech Mining (AKSU), touched the heart of audience through his daring and pertinent views on the topic “One nation one election”. Elaborating the topic he said: “Educated young generation must come forward to join the politics only then the nation will move towards the path of progress”.

Notably, Indian Student Parliament had been organized under the supervision of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, where the dignitaries like TN Seshan (Ex. Election Commissioner) and Shivraj Patil, were also present. Prashant Sharma was given the “Certificate of Participation” at the end of the workshop. Management (AKSU) has congratulated the student for his participation in forum like this.
