AKS University “As a Knowledge Partner” participated in an International Conference held in Singarauli (MP) last week. The International Conference which had been organized on the topic “Opencast Mining Technology and sustainability” witnessed the participation of the countries like China, USA, and Malaysia. Vice-Chancellor (AKSU), PK Banik “As Chief Guest” participated in conference and shared his views on “open cast mining”. Also, he apprised the audience about the mining related works being done by AKS University.

 The AKS delegation, which included Er. Anant Soni, RK Shrivastava, Kanchi Pandey, Pragya Shrivastava, Manish Agrawal, GK Pradhan and BK Mishra, had the interactive session with Mr. Sinha, who occupies the position of CMD in Northern Coalfields Limited. The conference also saw the presence of the representatives, came from various Industrial & Educational organizations of India like NIT Rourkela, NIT Raipur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT BHU, L&T, BEML and HEC Volvo.

 47 (forty seven) research papers were presented during the conference, which dragged the attention of the audience on the various aspects of open cast mining. On the last day of the symposium, members of AKS delegation named Dr. GK Pradhan, Professor- B Prasad, AK Mittal and Er. Abhishek Tripathi delivered their sententious research papers, which were appreciated by the intellectual audience present over there.

Unit Trust of India on Friday organized a seminar in AKS University where staff members received valuable information related to the various financial schemes pertaining to Mutual Funds and Fixed Deposits. Addressing to faculty members, J.S. Makka, the keynote speaker said: “saving and investing are habits which need to be developed as early as possible”. Also, he shared information on the topic “Your Journey to Financial Freedom”, and answered to the queries of the audience regarding depreciation and investment on mutual funds.

Following the recommendation of the cabinet committee (Govt. of India), Dr. BN Mahapatra has recently been appointed as the Director General of NCCBM. Dr. Mahapatra, known for his expertise in field of cement technology, has been rendering his services to AKS University in capacity of the “Member of Board of Studies”.

 “Dr. BN Mahapatra has taken over as Director General, but he will continue to guide the students in future as well”, Management AKSU, said.  He has been congratulated by the Management (AKSU), with an expectation that he would continue to work for the “Training and Placement” of the students.

When my eyes go towards AKS family, I become confident enough to achieve success in future, if we continue to advance, rubbing the shoulders with one another, then no power in world can prevent us from reaching our destination. Hum akele hi chale the janib-e manjil magar, log sath aate gaye aur karwan banta gaya. These were the words of Chancellor (AKSU) during the Founder’s Day celebration of AKS University. Showing the flashback, BP Soni, the Chancellor said, “It was a long journey, full of ups and downs, began   from Rajiv Gandhi College, followed by Rajiv Gandhi Computer College, and now AKS University, which is ranked among the top Universities of India”. Also, he shared some interesting untold stories about senior faculty members who have been with him since beginning. Notably, AKS University celebrates its Founder’s Day on 9^th of December, which is the birth date of its Founder- Chancellor BP Soni.

On this occasion, many programmes were organized, and the faculty members were felicitated for their services. In this category, Late RPS Dhakre was given the “Life Time Achievement Award”, while Dr. Pankaj Shriwastava, Akhilesh A Wau, Dr. Ashwini A Wau, Dr. Kaushik Mukharjee and Dr. Neelesh Roy were awarded the “Faculties of the Year Award-2018”. In other categories, Pradeep Kumar Singh and Hemant Lal Rajak, for their good performance, were given “Lab Faculty of the Year Award”, In one more category, “Administrative Staff of the Year Award” was given to Dashrath Patidar (HoD, Library) for his excellent contribution to Library Department.

Speaking on the occasion, Er. Anant Soni urged the staff members to work for the comprehensive development of the students, he said, “You should treat the students in a manner, which you expect from the teachers of your sons and daughters”. The staff members, present on the occasion, took the opportunity to extend their thanks to Management (AKSU) for facilitating “excellent working environment” to them.

Campus drives are “on”, and the students from various faculties are being selected by the company HRs, said, Director (T&P). “Century Cement on Saturday arrived here for campus drive, carried out the evaluation of the students (Cement Technology, Diploma & B.Tech), and selected 7 (seven) for its Maihar branch”, he further informed.

Names of the selected students are: Anurag Patel, Anurag Tiwari, Pushparaj Gupta, Vinay, Abhilash Pandey, Sandeep Singh and Ramni Dwivedi. Students thus selected, will work in company as “Trainee Engineer” on a salary package of 2.50 Lakhs/annum. Management (AKSU) has congratulated to successful students, and advised them to work with full of dedication by exploiting their knowledge and skills to the maximum extent.
