With an objective to update the students with the latest technologies being introduced in field of agriculture, agriculture faculty of AKS University organized a one day seminar on the topic “Reconstruction of Indian agriculture” which was attended by Dr. Raghuvanshmani Pandey, a renowned scientist and President of F.A.I.D.A (Food and Agriculture Integrated Development Action). Speaking on the occasion Dr. Pandey said that the need of hour is to integrate both food and agriculture. Laying the emphasis on natural farming, Dr. Pandey said that the deterioration in agriculture production has been observed in India, despite the fact 70% population of India is dependent on agriculture, in year 1947 the contribution of agriculture to national income was approximately 50% which has now reduced to 12 to 15%. He appealed to seventh semester students of B.Sc. agriculture to suggest the village farmers to carry out the natural farming during their scheduled RAWE programme, Dr. Pandey also advised the students to develop their entrepreneurship skills. During the seminar Vice-Chancellor P.K. Banik, Chairman-Er Anant Soni, Pro V.C. R.S Tripathi, Dr. Harshvardhan, R.N. Tripathi, Dr. R.S. Pathak, Dr. R.S. Tomar, Dr. Neeraj Verma and a large number of students were present.
