A Programme on ‘Disaster Management’ in AKS University

Department of social work (AKSU), joining the hands with State Disaster Emergency Response Force, organized a programme on disaster management at the Vivekananda auditorium of AKS University. During the programme, 500 students from various branches received the valuable information about disaster, its meaning, and implementation during the rescue operation.
SDRF team, which was spearheaded by the Maneesh Shankar Sharma, shared various disaster management techniques used during the challenging situation. The SDRF team demonstrated the various machines and instruments brought into practice during the operation; like Victim locating Camera, which helps in locating the current situation of the affected area. Students also learnt the functioning of hydraulic jack, air lifting bag and scuba diving, which play a vital role in rescue operation. Detailing about the various responsibilities of State Disaster Emergency Response Force, team members shared the functioning of CPR (cardiac pulmonary resuscitation), which is also known as ‘life saver’ for the person facing breathing problem due to the disaster.
Speaking on the occasion Mayor Mamta Pandey Mayor,Satna advised the students to develop various other skills alongside their studies. Proposing the “vote of thanks”, Director (AKSU), Amit Kumar Soni cautioned the young boys and girls to be more attentive while clicking the selfiees.The programme was anchored and directed by Manju Chaterjee
