Addressing to students on the occasion, Neeladri Shekhar, the faculty member, threw lights on the importance of Ozone layer, and said that the gases like chlorofluro carbon, have been thoroughly responsible for the gradual deterioration of Ozone layer, another reason, he revealed, was “Deforestation in larger scale”, which could be held responsible for the development of massive holes in Ozone layer.Endorsing the points of Neeladri Shekhar, Suman Patel, the faculty member, said: “If the ozone layer gets thinner, larger doses of harmful ultraviolet radiation reach the earth’s surface, which are responsible for one of the deadliest deseases like cancer, so, the serious matter like this, needs to be addressed in priority.” The programme was attended by almost all the faculty members and the students of Environmental Science Department.
