With a view to enhance both theoretical and practical knowledge of students, AKS University gives them the opportunity to visit various places of India and abroad. Extending the series, four students named Abhishek Kumar, Shubham Saraswat, Saurabh Kumar Pandey and Sardar Singh Bagri (all from B.Tech, 6th semester of Mining Engineering), under the guidance of Professor Anil Mittal and Professor B K Mishra, made an study visit to Miomo Lignite Mines, situated in Thailand. Notably, AKS University, every year, facilitates the abroad visit of its students, which help them in development of both knowledge and personality of students.

The visit, which took place between 4th to 8th of June, helped the students in gaining comprehensive knowledge of mine planning, west dump design, drainage and surveying. On 5th of June, students interacted with experts and received the extensive knowledge of environment monitoring system, participation of community, operation control and stockpile management.

 On 6th of June, students visited the entire site of Miomo Power Plant and received the knowledge pertaining to geological modal core logging, sampling and data collection, pit design, and also learnt the stabilization method. Students were also shown the gas storage tank; wagon tippler, gas plant, and operation department, where they got to see the drainage system, rock samples, geological, mine working and various mines modals. Apart from these, students also visited the Lignite Mine Study Center. The Study Center visit was followed by the students meeting with Director (Planning), where they, along with both the Professors, were honored with the mementoes of visit.
