“With an objective to gain the knowledge of open cast mining, three students of final year (mining) will be visiting Thailand”, informed Dr. Gk Pradhan on Friday. Students named B. Chankya, Vijay Kumar and Utkarsh Jain, are set to be there in Thailand where they are scheduled to visit Lignite open cast mining, situated in Lapang Province of the country. Also, the visit will help the students in strengthening their knowledge related to light production, distribution and other functioning of open cast mining.

 “It will be a ten days visit which will help the students in acquiring knowledge about Eget, Memo, water protection and conservation”, told  Dr. Pradhan adding that the foreign visit like this, will enhance the knowledge of students regarding the assessment and management of the environment.

 Notably, four students have been to Thailand in year 2018 as well, where they had been thoroughly informed about the lignite mines of Lapang province. During the current visit, students will be accompanied and guided by S.Das Gupta, one of the faculty members from mining department of AKS University.
